At each location, there is a long designated section that you are allowed to walk on. At Badaling you will start out at the bottom section in the middle. You can walk go to either the right or left. Both directions are a steep winding path up and down. If you are concerned about getting tired, you can take the cable car up to the top and then walk the entire distance to the other side. If you get tired, it is a downhill walk to get back.
